Dance Gavin Dance / Downtown Battle Mountain IIClick-thru to download.DGD isn’t an easy band to listen to if you’re used to the usual constant beats and comfortable riffs. DGD isn’t a band that would get your attention at the first listen, but they grow on you over time if you sit through their albums a few times. They sound different from most post-hardcore bands because of their irregular drumming and jazz scales - now you should probably know what I meant by letting their music grow on you. That aside, I’m a sucker for their lyrics and emotion in their voices.Side note: I may be one of the minority who’s excited that Jonny Craig’s back in DGD. He may be an asshole but I can’t bring myself to dislike him too much to boycott his shit because he IS good with his music.

    Synrise (ft. Peaches) - Goose
    Album: Synrise (2010)

If you’ve heard and loved their previous album, Bring It On (2007), be in for a whole new ride for Synrise. You can tell just by listening to this opening track. Play this track while cruising down the highway and bass it up! The album gets better and better, track by track, bringing you on a roller-coaster ride with relevant highs and lows. What’s most enjoyable is that you could still tell it’s Goose despite the different feel. You should also listen to: Words.

Landfill (Belgium)They might sound like another alternative rock band out there to some of you. I agree to that, but there’s just something different about their sound which differentiates them from that pool. I won’t deny that I’m enjoying every piece of music they’ve got. They’ve also produced a few music videos which are as amazing as their tracks, do check them out on YouTube! I’ve linked up 2 of them below.Just trying to raise awareness of these few Belgian bands who are friends of a personal friend of mine. Spread the love around if you love what you hear. Peace! You can stream their music from their MySpace (click-through picture). Videos (and listen to): Kite, Low.

Willow (Belgium)”Willow, a six-piece indie rock band with roots firmly planted in the Flemish loamy soil, diligently and expertly senses out the borderline between pop and experiment. The fertile late eighties form the breeding ground for a colorful mix of spherical riffs, warm synths, pert drums and memorable vocals. Sometimes Willow wins you over wall-of-sound-wise, at other times it’s their irresistible groove that captures both your head and hips.”You would love Willow if you like Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, The National and the likes. Stream their music from their MySpace (click-through picture). Listen to: Blind.
